Saying “good bye” Cal-Nev-Ari Casino

Last Saturday I drove by the small desert town on the way to Laughlin Nevada it’s all closed up waiting for the new owners to do something with the property which was started by slim and Nancy Kidwell back in 1966 I believe anyway the property has a unique airstrip with people living on the airstrip they just open their airplane garage and go flying pretty cool Also there’s an RV park… a mobile home park… a motel … a gift shop … a convenient store across the street…. The casino had a nice little bar they were licensed for live gaming at one time but Nancy Kidwell could not find anybody to deal the games …. she used to be there in her office next to the bar … they had a little post office and the town of about maybe 100 people would go there for coffee breakfast and drinks … a very nice clean family run place … I remember meeting Nancy back in the early 1980’s her husband Slim just passed away she was so sad … recently she sold the town for $8 million and got out of town … here’s some pictures and history for your pleasure, thanks for reading the post… see you on the road Rich Burgel
