I hope no one minds that I just continue this, so all the "exciting" WI casino news is listed together?

The Kenosha County Board of Supervisors approved a proposal for a new Hard Rock casino during its Tuesday night hearing.

The 10-9 vote happened around 1 a.m. Wednesday after several hours of debate.

"We've heard forever we need an entertainment venue. Why is there no entertainment venue? They're coming to us, and they're not only saying we're bringing you an entertainment venue, we're going to pay you. We're going to help you address the challenges that your community faces," said Zach Rodriguez, who voted for the proposal.

"The only way this land could ever come out of this trust is if gambling ceases for 365 consecutive days. That's it. That's a big deal, and that's going to have a long-term impact on Kenosha County," said Zach Stock, who voted against the proposal.

Earlier this month, the city approved a proposal from the Menominee Tribe to build a Hard Rock hotel and casino just west of Interstate 94 off the Highway 50 exit.

The plan includes a casino, restaurants, 150 hotel rooms, a ballroom, and a 2,000-seat auditorium.

For a casino to operate in Wisconsin, it must be on land federally designated as a tribal reservation. That requires approval from the Federal Bureau of Indian Affairs and Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers.

Just to add some personal opinion, we've heard this before. There was a proposal to convert the dog track in that area, into a casino. The main opposition isn't the public, it's the other Indian casinos. Same thing happened in Hudson, where that dog track tried to convert to a casino. The gaming industry, operated by Native American's, doesn't want more venues to open.

I don't care either way. I don't go to Milwaukee and I'd rather drive over an hour, the other direction to Green Bay to avoid the city and the city people in downtown Milwaukee.

The Menominee Nation currently operates the casino in Keshena Wisconsin.

The Menominee would own the complex. The Wisconsin tribe, based west of Green Bay, (In Menominee County BTW) has an agreement with Hard Rock International, owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, to develop and manage the off-reservation property. I didn't know that Hard Rock International was owned by the Seminole Nation? I did some more searching, "Today, the Seminole Tribe of Florida owns and operates all Hard Rock units except; Las Vegas, Sioux City, and Vancouver properties." They bought the company in 2006 and every member of the tribe is now a multi-millionaire. Nice going and good management.
