Not sure about the envelope change but when I mail things I just enter the tracking number into my USPS app in the tracking field and then request text (or email updates). On the one you posted, just scroll up a bit and you’ll see that option on that page. You can sign up for their Informed Delivery service but it’s not needed. Hope this answers your question.
