Fremont stuff... grin

So...my posts started in order to show off our glass swizzle sticks grin

The Fremont is a name that was used repeatedly, so I'm expanding what I'm showing you...hope you enjoy the little history bits, along with the stuff! grin

Our glass swizzle sticks are from the Fremont Tavern. According to the 1937-38 phone book, the Fremont Tavern was located at 101 Fremont Street.

The 1937 phone book has the Mesquite Grocery Store at 101 Fremont, so apparently the Fremont Tavern opened in late 1937-1938 grin

By the 1942 phone book the Fremont Tavern was gone, and The Slot Machine was open at 101 Fremont Street

So...Fremont Tavern, 101 Fremont Street, c.1938-c.1941 grin. (A total of 3 glass swizzles)

We don't have any pictures of the Fremont Tavern, but here's a couple of pictures of The Slot Machine, at 101 Fremont grin

You may have noticed that the Fremont Hotel was located at 127 Fremont Street, in the 1937-38 phone book. That is NOT the Fremont Hotel that is open today (which opened in 1956, at 200 Fremont)

By 1950 the first Fremont Hotel was the location of the Golden Nugget Bingo Parlor...
