Richard, That's a Stunt. When the seller does not hit the number they are looking for thats how they back out of the auction. Their own version of a reserve. Another example I had a seller cancel my high bid 3 minutes after the auction closed. The reason was stated. " Out of Stock". I would imagine if its done frequently enough by a seller e-bay would catch on.......
