It Was No Picnic....

Trainees were rode hard and put up wet before jungle rot set into their legs, armpits, waste bands. That's something to live with no matter where you are in a tropic environment-- very painful in a hostile arena. Most
are more ways to die in the jungle instead of evading the enemy. Bugs, bugs, and snakes and poisonous plants -- all edible. Did you go through Vietnamese Village Familiarization? You had to hear them, smell them and hear them get drunk -- a sickening get-to-know the enemy. Thanks for your service.
