I did learn from an old timer of the Chip company that was bought out by a new chip maker that moved that operation up
north (they did not retain any of the old employees but the lady of the 2nd company had an old contact number and the fella was still alive), that the coins were subbed out to China to make (also explains their composition)that he only knew of one order placed that would have been used to supply the ship(s?).

I am currently trying to learn what the second ship used for a medium of exchange on their ship. Whether it be continued use of coins or had they changed to electronic credits(card readers).

I am very grateful for the responses! The pictures on the Chip Guide ARE THE only pics of the coin on the whole of the internet.!. And there hasn't been any discussions about them since the 90's and early 2000's and that was here also on an archived message board.

I am grateful to have your help.
