Scotland's first casino.

It is said that the Chevalier Casino in Glasgow was the first casino opened in Scotland by Reo Stakis in 1964.
Interestingly though, he bought the rundown Dunblane Hydro hotel in 1962 and turned it around to make a profit within 6 months and there was also a casino inside (he also made it his home). Maybe it was opened later but chips exist that have Chevalier Glasgow overstamped on Dunblane Hydro chips so...............I wonder if it was a Gentlemen's Club as opposed to a casino or maybe it was an "illegal" one. We may never know but the chips are still interesting.

This was a £1 when used at the Hydro.

As can be seen when the 2 are compared.

This was a 5/- one.

They also used the 10/- making it a £5 chip and another £5 that was £5 already (although one looks like it is a /- one).

New find and quite an interesting one at that.
