I wish I had known that I was going to be a chip collector back then? I'm pretty sure that some of the downtown locations, had gambling beyond the 70s. Maybe quieter, but still there must have been activity. My Dad's office, in the 50s/60s was second floor, in the Belmont Hotel building, or right next to it, hard to remember. 743 N. 4th St. Across the street some of the places that show on the WI illegal list. I know he and the rest of the salesmen would go out after work and have a couple.

I played in various wedding bands, on and off, through the 70s and 80s. We know the back doors to some of the finest halls in Milwaukee. 😉 Tyrolean Townhouse for one. But Bluemound Rd. had the hotels with the halls.

I keep asking, every little shop we go to, out in the country and Up North. Some day, someone will have some old "poker chips" with a name or letters on them. Usually I get the, "I think I saw something out back" which turns out to be some Walgreens Podo, cardboard, or other common plastic chips. Nothing of interest.

Prom? I was kind of boring... Karl Ratzsch just because it was extra special, downtown and heck, it was Prom? In case you missed it, they closed in 2017 after 113 years.
