In Praise Of Poor Condition

Little known fact: I was the one who coined the phrase "Doug Dust" as a comment on the superb prices Doug Saito regularly gets for his auction lots. He gives you some history and tells you why you need to have each chip. In return Doug coined the phrase "Cilento Condition" meaning that I would never pass on a chip needed for my collection because of condition. I think Doug got the better deal but he's right.
Here are three chips I own. The very worn Circus Circus $100 is a member of the hot stamp fourth series. I've been told that the Las Vegas Club $5 horseshoe mold came from Lake Mead. The Gold Coast $1000 looks like it's been encased in concrete. In more than 25 years I've never seen another example of these chips and they are a proud part of my collection.
