Re: I ran my own BBS with HST 9600 modems

Those were the days, eh? When I first got into the internet biz, I started with 7 lines/modems in a friend’s basement (my place was only wired for 2 pairs). All the gear was on a microwave cart. Fast forward a few months and 80 lines in a small strip mall office. Fast forward a year and I have multiple t1 lines. Fast forward again to multiple DS-3 lines. Fast forward to nationwide dialup using partnerships with other companies’ “ports”. Then comes dsl and over time, all of the dialup fades into the past. Think how much old equipment that was once considered revolutionary is now in landfills and only had a lifespan of maybe 10 years at best. Crazy. Thanks. For sharing your experience.
