Thanks Westen, while i am not a practicing

Attorney, both my son and daughter are…. Lol

While I agree with you on many of your ideas, I also believe some are a bit unworkable.

Regardless my post was not meant to debate the structure of the club or for that matter the accomplishments or shortcomings of current or previous administrations.

It was more meant to who is the best equipped to bring us out of the hole we found ourself in just a few weeks ago, At least in the short term.

Most people don’t realize how much work and effort it takes to be the president of this club.
For the majority of those that just collect or have fun at the convention, they don’t see what’s behind the scenes. How much work every volunteer puts in. How much effort went into planning every aspect of the outcome it takes to get the magazine out, to get the convention to run smoothly and the hundreds of other daily issues that are dealt with by countless people that work to make it happen.

It’s easy for those folks to say, this person would make a good a president or someone else won’t, especially when personalities and friendships become involved.

I am trying to take that aspect out of my decision on who to vote for.

Does the club need new thinking? absolutely. Do we need to grow and adapt? No question.
I absolutely love some of the ideas I have read from numerous people over the last few weeks and would give to see many of them implemented.

With that being said, right now my concern is with the short term recovery.
When a President and Convention chair resigns just before the annual convention, I see that as a huge problem. I don’t believe today is the day to make more changes.

I applaud all folks who announced their candidacy as wanting to help is is very refreshing to see that happen. We need new ideas and new suggestions in order to survive and I would hope those folks regardless of the outcome continue to support the club and can be used in position to make that happen.

The most important thing you said and the thing I agree with the most was your last statement.
Good luck to whomever takes over the Presidents position. Sometime is seems it’s not a position I would wish on my worst enemy and difficult at best.

Just ask any prior President of the club if they would want to come back and the answer becomes blatantly obvious.

But as I said, I agree with you completely on that. Good luck to whomever takes over this position.
