Re: Production of Ivory, MOP and Bone

Though I would agree with most of that, I am not saying the numeral 5 chip seen above is part of an inventory where there were thousands made which would be impossible to know... We can also safely assume there are thousands of differnt numerals/designs in all engraved type chips where there are two and three variations found in family-owned sets which are very similar and, it would be interesting to know if there are other denominations similar to this 5 where maybe something defines it as custom made. None of what I am saying takes away from this 5 not being a beautiful chip and my response was simply stating that a numeral chip such as this can not be attributed to any club or person as it stands. I have not looked through Seymour's, either. Is it a new code?

I have suggested through the years that what we believe to be a generic MOP, may not be the case and just might be part of a casino or club inventory where there might be a match in a ring placement or monetary unit style of engraving or even a serial number style and that we should include those pieces in ChipGuide just in case someone has further info.
