Imagine if we no longer had to wait for a human to pass away to harvest a donor heart. This is an important first step, but like all transplant matters I am sure the beginning stages will involve low survival rates and a lot of learning from "mistakes."

Apparently this recipient was not qualified for a human heart transplant and decided to help contribute to medical research by volunteering for this procedure. That makes him a hero in my book.
