Though the Italian Lira is 'double' horizontal bar
In Response To: Is it pound or lira? ()

~~~ and the GBP is mostly 'single' horizontal bar (they used both, it appears) and, they are not the only countries who use/used the £ sign, these seen below (Seymour's) are mostly DOUBLE BAR and all are very old and all are to the right of the denomination... and we know from the UK.
So far I do not find any currency with the £ to the right of the denomination and not sure why these MOP plaques are the way they are and have NOT yet found any early Bahamian Club chips/plaques to compare and, I seriously doubt any of these double bar £ monetary units are Italian Lira... and I do not find any Italiwn Lira chips or currency 2ith the £ to the right of the denomination. So I do not know... grin
I know there are some who want to call the 2£ and 5£ (and there is a 1£ chip, too) Italian and Bahamian, but I see nothing to show me this. Thanks.
