LUCAYAN and the British.

Though the opening was way before my time on GBI (didn't start playing in Freeport until '72); the house was opened by Brits who all flew over on the same plane (full account at GF, even roster) and continued to work there and at el Casino (Princess and Bahamian) well up to and through both Hurricanes (2005) until Nature finally ended it all along with everything connected to it... while one or two of the original group were managers up to the last day.

Other than the early gambling boats in Florida; which were heavy British, Freeport was one of the best run gaming jurisdictions in the World and, there was almost a comeback in Lucaya when London Clubs almost opened with it being 99.999% completed. Gaming turned down the newly-delivered playing cards and shortly after; the fold.
