M. Folis and ChipGuide Admins

Dear Sir:

I wish to humbly apologize for causing problems or difficulties for the ChipGuide. That was never my intent. I was attempting to find some clarification on identifying some chips I had bought on eBay but couldn't either figure out how to find them or was wanting to correctly identify the chip to catalogue it into my collection. There was never any intent to cause difficulties for the ChipGuide or the Admins maintaining it. I have only the greatest admiration for all of those who are always working to maintain ChipGuide as I consider it to be the ultimate resource to the collecting community. Without ChipGuide, collecting would be much more challenging and probably impossible to have any sort of cohesive cataloguing in anyone's collection.

Perhaps tagging a duplicated entry as "duplicated record, see CGXXXX" might be an easy fix so as to not delete any items tagged by other collectors in their personal list?

Again, thank you so very much for the work that all of the Admins and contributors make to the ChipGuide. I would not enjoy collecting nearly as much without it.

I gladly pay my CCA dues to be able to access ChipGuide and will continue to do so into the future. I hope to be a Life Member someday. I have been collecting chips for over 30 years, and have been aware of CCA but due to logistic limitations, I have only been seriously collecting and in a place where I can collect only for a few years. I have attended two conventions, enjoyed both to a limited degree and hope to attend more in the future.

Perhaps making use of the Mentor program while attending a future convention may make my experience more enjoyable, but will have to explore that at a later time.

I still have chips I haven't been able to find in ChipGuide. I'm sure they must be in there somewhere, but am now reluctant to ask for additional help for fear of causing more problems. I will continue to explore and research on my own so as to not be a burden.

Thank you very much for the help you have provided and again, I greatly appreciate the efforts of the Admins in supporting ChipGuide. I greatly appreciate the patience shown to me by Charles Kaplan at the last convention in his answering questions and providing guidance at the previous convention. I hope to see him and others again at future gatherings.

Most sincerely,

Jeff Jones
