Update on Virginia Casino Development...

Information gathered from several blogs and news reports…

The ONE Casino & Resort would require voter approval in the November election.
If the measure passes, the target date for the opening of the 500 million dollar project would be
October 2024.

The HeadWaters Resort & Casino in Norfolk has been approved by voters and is being developed
by the Pamunkey Indian Tribe. The property is expected to open in mid 2023.

The Caesars Casino project in Danville is expected to open on the site of the old Dan River Mills
textile company headquarters and factory by the 4th quarter of 2023.

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino being developed in Bristol by the Seminole Indian Tribe has been
approved by voters. The 400 million dollar project on the site of the former Bristol Mall is expected
to open in early 2023.

The Rivers Casino project in Portsmouth has been approved by voters and site preparation of the
50 acre property is underway. The official ground-breaking is scheduled for this month, with
opening anticipated by late 2023.

The most populous section of the state is northern Virginia, currently served by three out-of-state
properties: the MGM National Harbor Casino just outside the DC line in Maryland… the Maryland
Live! Casino
in Hanover, Maryland… and the Hollywood Casino in Charles Town, West Virginia.

As far as I can determine, no new casino project has been proposed for northern Virginia.
