~~~ referred to as 'plugged' chips that probably came from an early San Francisco joint; floral with a very wide red rim. I don't remember which code variation, but they were the only ones I have ever seen. The process prevented further fracture in strengthening the chip for heavy use on wooden tables. The process was not uncommon for ivory pool balls as well with the abuse they get.

Also, Kenny and Phil Flanagan had also explained to me some MOP graver techniques which I wouldn't have ever realized, otherwise.
