Re: What was that you said; "Covid, Florida and Te

Not wanting to get into a big debate but California has a considerably larger population than any of the other states, including Florida and Texas, so it stands to reason there are more COVID cases. BUT in my mind, the statistics that really tell the tale are the per capita numbers and when you look at those, California seems to have done a pretty good job. They do currently have a considerable number of active cases so in the state so we'll see how that plays out. See below, I also included the best and the worst states in each of the per capita categories for comparison purposes.

State Population
California - 39,512,223
Florida - 28,995,881 (10.5 million less than California)
Texas - 21,477,737 (18 million less than California)

Total Cases per 1 million population:
California - #36 out of 50 states (114,461 cases per 1 million population)
Florida - #3 out of 50 states (163,415 cases per 1 million population)
Texas - #20 out of 50 states (163,415 cases per 1 million population)
Tennessee - #1 out of 50 states (170,927 cases per 1 million population)
Vermont - #50 out of 50 states (49,014 cases per 1 million population)

Total Deaths per 1 million population:
California - #33 out of 50 states (1,713 deaths per 1 million population)
Florida - #12 out of 50 states (2,293 deaths per 1 million population)
Texas - #22 out of 50 states (2,114 deaths per 1 million population)
Mississippi - #1 out of 50 states (3,058 deaths per 1 million population)
Vermont - #50 out of 50 states (468 deaths per 1 million population)

Data is from the URL below, sort on the "Tot Cases/ 1M pop" and "Deaths/ 1M pop" headers.
