Hi Paul the bird was added to sit on top of the tower later they added Neon to it and it blinked and like it was flapping its wings the Thunderbird hotel was built in 1948 by Marion Hicks who also built the El Cortez and the Algiers hotel using the same Adobe brick block with the mud between the bricklayers
