Other than knowing much of what we see in the thin chips and plaques that were the results of recycling; grinding, reshaping one or both sides to re-engave a casino name, monogram or denomination, some of the earlier pieces such as this round 100F could have been stock blanks which were common with the manufacture of the Chinese pieces we know of that were used in Europe and England in certain games and, then, perhaps the thick and beveled type such as this 500 could have been the results of what was needed in games that used a palette.
