Here we go again?

They come they go. X-Train is a long con of sorts. But Brightline seems to be real and will possibly create a connection. Oh and now Amtrak says, they might add a line (all of these using freight tracks for at least part of the way) if Congress approves the funds. It seems odd to me, that now that someone private might finally enter the market, Amtrak is going to compete? When for a long time, Amtrak ignored the route.
