Why Baccarat Casino Chips are Oversized!

Have you ever wondered why baccarat chips are larger and oversized?? That's what we are talking about today! While conducting research I found quite a few articles and posts talking about the topic. It's an interesting thing because these oversized chips are generally exclusive to the baccarat tables and area inside of a casino. Many like MGM Grand, Caesars Palace, Riviera, Aladdin, Las Vegas Hilton and many others used to and still probably do have these exclusive oversized chips in their baccarat areas. So, why would they need to use the oversized chips?? Well, it's a thing of trying to discourage cheating, it adds a mystique and an aura to the baccarat area because they are playing with different chips than anyone else. Then, it also helps the dealers and everyone else know that generally they are playing with larger denomination chips. Larger the sized, larger the amount (not always the case). The Dunes for example had a $1k, $5k and then even larger $25k baccarat chips in the 80s/90s when they had the golf course inlays. On top of all these aspects, I know that there are tons of people who do collect these oversized chips. Although, not everyone likes them, I do that's for sure. They are unique and you are able to find some amazing odd-denomination chips like $20 chips!
