Gambling operators were paying $60,000 a month ~~~

~~~ for some of the ballrooms in those swanky San Francisco hotels and as far south as Mexico. The operators had their chips made in France in US dollars and most of them were monogrammed where they could have used them anywhere. A few have been found in Paris about 20 years ago and old drawings show monograms. As many as 3, 4 and more cased sets were used in one room, per game. Some cabinets exist which houses 7,000 MOP chips. Sets of serial numbers were as high as 3 and 4 numberingsm
