This is by far the largest plaque I had ever seen measuring nearly 9” x 12”.
The other plaques shown for size comparison are fairly large plaques themselves.

The plaque was the same one on David Spragg’s table in 2019. From what I am told only 2 were made and one is embedded in the bar at the casino.

Both Lee ODell and myself talked about it quite a bit during the show and both of us desperately wanted to own it. The only problem was the huge price tag. Lee and I have talked a LOT about plaques in the past as both of us were avid collectors.

The last day of the 2019 show Lee came by the raffle table to show me his new purchase. I was SO jealous especially when I found out he paid only a fraction of the listed price and something I would have paid myself (exact figures I don’t want to bring up).

I immediately tried to offer Lee more than he paid which he turned down and asked him to remember me if he ever decided to sell.

I believe Lee’s comments back to me was the only way I will ever own this is when he passes on.

I was extremely sad to hear of Lee’s passing last year as I will forever miss the discussions and showing off our favorite finds to each other.

SO, on the Friday of the convention this year, I was approached by Lee’s Family. They had made a special trip to Vegas in honor of Lee and were all wearing badges from previous conventions with his name on them.
They presented me with this plaque letting me know that one of Lee’s final wishes was for me to have this plaque.

I am still getting choked up now just thinking about it.

Lee was a special friend and this experience confirms what I have said for years about this hobby. Some of the greatest people I have ever met were chip collectors and Lee was one of them.

I can’t thank the Odell family enough for their gift and it will be treasured forever.

I have thousands of plaques in my collection….. but this one is beyond special.
