Bob Stupak’s Vegas World Day 5

Welcome back. Today’s memorabilia is not exactly from Vegas World but from it’s owner Bob Stupak’s foray into politics.
Bob ran unsuccessfully for Mayor of Las Vegas twice. The first in 1983 he ended up with the second highest amount of votes and 1987 came within inches of winning, losing by less than 2,000 votes. Voting irregularities were cited in the 1987 campaign and there were numerous people, as cited in the book “NO LIMIT” by John L Smith, that the election was stolen and that Bob had actually won! At this point no one really knows for certain what happened that election night, but I’d like to hope that Bob Stupak actually won. If nothing else it would have made for an interesting four years for the city of Las Vegas.

Here are two campaign buttons from those years. I’m not sure which year’s campaign they are from, if anyone can shed light on this I’d love to know.
