Researching San Francisco gambling Halls 1850-1910

Appears there were a ton of the well-organized establishments where operators would pay the hotel as much as $60,000 a month for a ballroom-size room.

Though coinage and Ivory was very common, recent study has shown us that Mother-of-Pearl; cabinetry contained, and sets of from 2,000 to 5,000 pieces weren't uncommon and even controlled (numbered) with up to three series on a complete set... most of which originating from France, and shipped as far south into Mexico and beyond.

Some of that stuff (other than what we know of) has got to be resting with the families of those involved and, from what we have seen thus far, they were all $ monetary unit and well into Mexico as well... Doing the research in France may be the most difficult as far as who ordered what from where along with graphic specifications.
