In world terms, Australia is gambling industry heaven. It is second only to the United States as a market for slot machines.

And the boom for gaming suppliers extends far beyond slot machines, blackjack tables and playing cards.

Other suppliers such as Macquarie Textiles - which has a manufacturing agreement with ACES of Sydney - are getting growth from such businesses as the production of layouts (the green coverings for tables).

According to the general manager of ACES, Mr Bryan Jenkins, export business for the woollen layouts for tables is booming, with sales growing rapidly in the UK and South-East Asia.
