I know for sure that the 100 Park Place was on the table because that's where I got mine from. I also had the painted version I got later on and later it came to my attention that they might be fake and how to tell. I matched the one I got from the table myself with the other won I got and clearly saw the difference. Once the dots didn't line up, I gave it a little scratch to confirm that the paint/insert was easily removed.
Regarding the Showboat 100, I have a painted on inserts sample. But if you look at Ricky's web site he has one on display and if you download the picture to your PC and then in large it, you can see that the dots line up perfectly. I would say that one is a live chip. So I would say that the Showboat 100 with real inserts were used in live games as well.
