Re: Ebay shipping
In Response To: Ebay shipping ()

Thanks for the added info. This is my first experience with it, and I haven't even mailed the envelope yet so it is truly new and untested.

I can't show the screen shot of the shipping screen - I can only reach that when I have a sale (which have been scarce lately).

Here's a photo of the envelope label, with the customer's name removed. I was curious about tracking since it lacks the normal post office scan bar code and only seems to have the old style code for a recipient's address. You can see a tracking number in the upper left corner - I plan to monitor that to see how it works.

I know there was a company that provided so-called tracking for about 20 cents. They would track the mailing and every step of the process except the most important step: they did not track delivery to the ultimate customer. As far as I was concerned, they didn't protect a seller from "not received" claims.

When I sell individual elongated coins I offer budget-level shipping in an untracked envelope. I get dinged by Ebay for not downloading tracking information, so maybe this system protects me there (I'm just not sure). If it does not really track delivery to the customer, I will be vulnerable to having to issue refunds or replacements, but since these tend to be $3 transactions that's not a big deal.
