Word of the week: Tulle.

...or Tullé (sometimes referred to as snakeskin).


With more recent manufacture; the actual mesh/netting has been replaced with a printed laminate as one of the last layers on both sides under the final protective layer(s) which, in an example of a BG product, the final plaque can be comprised of up to fifteen layers -- the core and buildup on both surfaces.

What's interesting on some of the earlier jetons and plaques is that you can actually see and feel the exposed thread ends on the edge of the jetons.
