My chip story grin

Several years ago my husband and I found some chips from the Chief, in Ely. We got them for under $10 each (probably about $5) and decided to sell them on the chipboard, to collectors, for $50 each. They listed higher than that, but we got a great deal and wanted to share our luck with other chippers. In my original post, I believe that I stated that they were for sale, to collectors...not dealers.

The chips sold pretty quickly and I was happy that we'd been able to make other chippers happy. BUT...I got an email from another chipper, who scolded me for "devaluing" the chips! mad Seems he thought it was o.k. to tell me what to do. I didn't think that was o.k.

Eventually it came out that he was negotiating a deal, to sell a similar chip, for $200 I think.

I dug through the archives and found my post, if you want to read the whole story...

Bottom line, in my opinion...we are a group of hobbyists. Each of us has the right to enjoy our hobby as it suits us. Sometimes that will make others unhappy. Even if we don't agree with the way others enjoy their hobby, I don't feel that we should bad mouth each other in public.

Obviously the above statement doesn't apply to blatant dishonesty such as accepting money and not sending chips...stuff like that.
