Monte Carlo in Ely?? 🤔🤔

In the Nevada state phone book from January of 1931, before gambling was legalized in March, there is a listing for a Monte Carlo Casino. No address is listed...photo below. This isn’t listed in TGT or in Fullers. Fullers Plus does list a Monte Carlo Club in Ely, with an opening date of 10-30-1953...obviously not the same place.

The listing is gone from the 1933 phone book.

In 1938 a Monte Carlo Club, on Aultman, appears in the phone book...which could be just a bar or social club...it doesn’t say casino.

In 1946 the Monte Carlo Club is still listed, with an address of 660 Aultman. 1938 and 1946 phone books both list 329 as the phone number, so I’m sure it’s the same place.

I didn’t look beyond 1946.
