Weekend Finds in San Diego

Went to the flea market yesterday (Saturday) and found a surprisingly large number of chips, tokens and other goodies just waiting to be bought. Almost the first thing to catch my eye was the Caesars Pewter Spoon, in its original plastic case. Great gift shop item! Saaaay, do you know what happened to Caesar after he accidentally swallowed a pewter spoon? (Answer at end.)

Gorras made their appearance at one vendor's stand, and I spotted a few casino-related items almost immediately. The red Sycuan cap was a 2005 Father's Day promotion - bring your Dad down and get a free cap, I guess. The Excalibur painter's style hat is also cool. Wear it on the property and Merlin might just sneak up behind you and touch you with his Magic Wand. A couple of Riviera decks of cards went into my bag. Then the top of my water bottle came off and water began leaking over everything and out of the bottom. Ohhh, noooo! The bag was canvas (not going to fall for using a paper bag ever since my Halloween night candy disaster sixty years ago) but I had to do some quick unpacking and move the cards, caps and spoon into the second (dry) bag I was carrying.

A variety of chips, too - that red Paulson with three white inserts is from Haiti International. It sure did some travelling in its day. A Reef from Australia and a Pink Flamingo Free Play token from Laughlin (I'd forgotten they had a Flamingo out there). I remembered something about a $5 Palazzo chip so I took a chance and bought it - wrong! I guess the world is looking for the Palazzo $5 House Chip, not the Grand Opening. Did better with Harvey's $2 with No Windows in the Tower - that's the one I lacked.

Ran out of water but had fun anyway.

Answer to Caesar Riddle: He couldn't stir!

Ha ha ha ha ha!

Is the Haiti International chip...
Yes, same as the one you show - and
Nice! It took me a long time to get one
