My Big Slot Win
In Response To: NCR: Classic Vegas Story... grin ()

I'm not a slot player or much of a gambler for that matter. Also I don't collect chips from Henderson. But maybe 20 years ago I joined a few fellow collectors to Henderson for a chip run and some gambling. I had three pennies in my pocket and put them in a nearby slot machine to kill time and get rid of the pennies. I forgot which casino. After about 20 minutes the gang wanted to leave and I had run my three cents to well over three dollars. (of course it would be the penny machine.) I pressed the "cash out" button and about 100 pennies poured out. Then it happened. Lights and alarms went on. Apparently there's a strict procedure when a machine runs out of money during a payout. Almost immediately two guards showed up along with one or two employees with a load of pennies to refill the machine. I was not allowed to leave until the machine was refilled and the payout could continue. My fellow chippers were not amuse with the delay. Once the machine was working and the guards left so did I leaving my winnings in the hopper.
