Herd(s) of Tule Elk in Humboldt County

We did a kayak/canoe camping trip last year on the coast near Eureka CA last year. One of the kids brought a vuvuzela (one of those annoying plastic horns you see/hear at sporting events, particularly soccer) and after blowing it to annoy one (or more) of the other kids and one (well, all) of the adults, a herd of Tule Elk appeared along the shore about 100 yards from us, peering over to see what the heck all the fuss was about. Very cool.
