Help establishing chip value

First i will introduce myself.

Per my post last weekend. My name is Dawson Price and am the son of Richard "Dick" Price. My dad was a member of the club from early 90's to late 90's or early 2000's. I recognize a lot of names on here that i know he had dealings with and some he still deals with via eBay. While he was collecting chips i was collecting casino dice, dice in general, and just overall gambling items as well.

I recently stumbled upon a group of chips from a small town Nevada club. Chips are listed in The Chip Rack along with # of chips made. Sadly the chips are not in great shape. I would consider them in well worn condition and because of that, they are not worth anywhere near value listed in price guides. I did not find all of the of the chips produced, but based on the quantities listed in the guide i did find a significant portion of them.

One idea i am considering is posting a sample of the chips and asking you chippers to email me privately with what you would be willing to pay for one of the chips. I would then throw out the highest and lowest values, and then set the price on an average of the other values.

Would you all be open to this process? Have other ideas, would love to hear them. I am not opposed to doing it all out in the open, but also don't want to create a bunch of drama to detract from the joy of finding a group of chips that are close to 70 years old.

Lets have some fun.
