I know his wife Romy much better, she spoke highly of her husband many times. Finally, I looked him up ... a true American hero. Her stories seemed too much to be true ... was I wrong. The first link is a local news paper article, followed by a YouTube video. Robert and his wife travel to Europe every year for the WWII ceremonies. They have exhausted all their medal coins (showed in the video) through the years given away mostly in Europe. I had mention at one time about Chipper Chuck ... Romy wanted to surprise her husband with an affordable replacement. When delivered, Robert called to thank me for the chips, many war stories and tears were shed on that call. He's still alive, doing well and they presented me one of those medal coins.
