Re: Chipguide question?
In Response To: Chipguide question? ()

Generic - a chip that has been widely available and used at many locations without having any identifying mark except for its intended use with at least either a numeral or a letter or roulette and...

Unidentified - a chip that has been made with identifying graphics such as a monogram even if with a specific term such as roulette or whatever... with the exception of not knowing what any additional graphics mean or where the roulette chip was used other than widely.

Our club glossary doesn't list the term generic.

A generic jeton - is basically the same as an "American-style" generic chip... and the contributor may not know what exactly any additional numerals or letters would mean and simply places it in "UFC" (UFC is an "Unidentified 'Flying' Chip" 🤔)

... and I am sure there is much more that can be added to define more accurately the term generic and unidentified.

I think where the chip is placed within the guide is with the submitter.

The chip you illustrate above is generic; it explicitly tells us it is a five (either a denomination or specific table number).
