A D&N club story

The D&N club (Sparks, Nv.) ashtray posted the other day reminded me of this adventure I had
about 1970. I would occasionally stop in for a beer and play the slots. It was a gritty working
man's bar with some poker tables in an adjacent room located at B and Pyramid Way. One
night I asked the bartender if there were any old D&N chips laying around and he went over
to the cash register and lifted up the cash drawer. He came back and handed me a $5, orange and
black, small crown, D&N chip. Wow! I had never seen one before. I said can I give you $5 for it?
No! he replied, and grabbed it back and tossed it'd back in the register! I left feeling frustrated
and disappointed. I never did find another one. An R-9 in CW, I wonder if any one has one in
their collection? By the way, I'm pretty sure the D&N stands for Danny and Nello.
