Re: History about the Cosmo Club
In Response To: History about the Cosmo Club ()

My girlfriend worked at the Cosmo in the 70s when Pick Hobson owned it. I was dealing craps at the
Overland and was asked to go to work there but declined. It wasn't the best location. A security
guard would walk her down there. Pick owned the whole block and combined Bill's Corner Bar, the
Cosmo, and SP bar by cutting passageways between all three places. It was all the Cosmo then.
Lai King Chew did an oral history which I have printed out. You can access it at UNHOP. She mentioned
the tunnel that ran the length of Commercial Row and connected all the all the places from the
Overland to Bill's. I remember exploring it and finding a dozen boxes or so of Bill's Corner Bar chips
piled on a crap table. Pick had all the slots from the Frontier Club piled at the entrance of the tunnel
which came out in the dealer's break room. It was all demolished when Harrah built his garage.
