Charles; Your last observation in your post was spot on; "I wasn't a chip collector back when The Chip Rack first came out, but now I wonder if there were any collectors who objected to it because they didn't want their "rare" chips to be listed.

Many years ago, when I was seeking information/photos from other collectors to publish in my earlier Atlantic City Chip & Token catalogs, I found that several "collectors" were reluctant to share any information saying that once a chip or token became known it would no longer be considered "rare' and would be diminished in value. Nothing could be further than the truth. Serious/knowledgeable collectors know what is common and what is rare.
