Weekend Finds at Kobey's San Diego

Back to Kobey's today - at least the coastline had a bit of fog but by the end of my walk, I was huffing and puffing. But how could I not enjoy the day, when at my very first stop, I spotted this blue $100 Jeton from People's Republic of Outer Magnolia! It's REALLY out there, Comrade! I'm not likely to ever visit the place so this is the next best thing.

A seller of coins and miscellany had two boxes full of chips and tokens. It was tough bending over for so long a time but I managed to score a few good ones. Including two riverboat tokens apparently unknown to the ChipGuide. That faded pink thing is a Fitzgerald's St. Patrick's Day $5 (thanks a lot, Chipco chemists).

It was late in the day by the time I arrived and after looking through the coin dealer's stock - a vendor began yelling "Free, Free, Everything on the tables is Free!" So it was time to hustle over and grab what I could. I found a single chip on the table - and amazingly, it is one of those rarest of the rare: a Las Vegas chip the "local boys" have never posted to ChipGuide. Score!!! Also got a generic Las Vegas cap, and that commemorative 1978 Midland Dollar, courtesy of the Hon. John E. Stokes, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. I'm pretty sure he never travelled to Outer Magnolia, either.

Oh, that key fob? Triple play winner, it advertises the Casablanca, Oasis and Virgin River Casinos in Mesquite.
