Re: When did Paul-Son start manufacturing TH&C chi

Yes, the late Robert Eisenstadt's website is a fantastic resource. I have studied his mold design pages closely, and it inspired my interesting in collecting and researching chip edge mold designs. In the past I corresponded with him asking about some other edge mold designs, but not the TH&C ones.

I was wondering, however, if the early dates he posted on his website were exactly right.

He cites 1955 as the date of the first Christy & Jones TH&C chip, but the late Gene Trimble studied the Burt Co. order cards and identified a 1958 $5 Mint Club chip as the first TH&C chip created by the Burt Co.. http://www.marlowcasinochips.com/links/genetrimble/illegaloftheday/ChristyJones.pdf

Robert also list 1964 as the date of the first Paul-Son LCV chip, but that is at least year before Paul-Son Co. was established according to several sources. Howard Herz wrote in a 2007 CCGTCC article that: "The Paul-Son Company of Las Vegas Nevada was established in 1966 and began their own manufacture of custom casino chips in the 1970s after initially using the Burt Company" (second page of this article; http://www.ccgtcc-ccn.com/SampleBoxes.pdf)

So I was trying to reconcile some contradictory information by going to the ChipGuide, and asking you all what you thought.
