Ships of interest... grin

The Ship & Bottle Club opened in Reno, at 222 N Center Street, on March 31, 1932. It was reported to be downtown Reno's first ornate club...and it was said that the Ship & Bottle rivaled the Willows Resort as a gathering place for Reno's night life...including wealthy divorcees and celebrities. The club opened with just one roulette wheel and one 21 game. The club had a replica of a ship's prow on the front, and was a replica of an English pub of the same name. The Ship & Bottle closed late in 1940. (Information from "The Rise of the Biggest Little City" by Dwayne Kling).

The Ship Bar opened in Carson City in 1947. According to Mark Englebretson, it closed in the 1960's, and the front of the Ship Bar used to be the front of the Ship & Bottle.
