Casinos and antique shops are a waste of time.

Virtually everything found makes its way to Paris, first, and to Nice, as well... unless going to Delcampe and eBay. Casinos have been well scoured since the mid-90's by organized dealers/collectors.

The only hopes in locating anything rare is searching down the sons and daughters of one-time, well-known gamblers or families of casino operators from years past. Otherwise, small antique/junk shop vendors rarely find anything of interest. Toy shops are a good place to search and of course any numismatic society meetings.

Funny story; there was a tour of collectors who verged upon a historic casino in search of chips and when they finally arranged a meeting with the right person, they were informed "the person to contact is John Benedict, in Florida..." 😀 Of course I knew everyone in the group, but it was funny when they emailed me telling me this.

Despite all this; give it your best shot because anything can pop up at any time. Good luck... and, if you need any help while out in the field you can always email me.
