no matter the model on the Epson Perfection, even the cheapest ones you will get correct color on pinks and orange. the v33 or the newer v39 IS a cis (99% sure) but still gives correct colors. I bought my refurbished V500 from Epson like 7 years ago, still going, and a fellow chipper that lived across the street from me at the time bought the cheapest Perfection, which was CIS and got the same color on pink and orange chips like my V500
