NCR Convention bound Day 14

When we last left you all we were on our way to Fargo. Well we made it to Fargo but we did stop and see a few of the unique, unusual and odd. On the way to Fargo there is some very interesting yard art items. When you see a 20-foot tractor with a farmer you say to yourself, “Man I have got to get a picture of that”. Of course, you would expect to see right next to the farmer a dinosaur’s skeleton.

If you ever find yourself in Frazee Minnesota by all means make your way to see the world's largest and second largest turkey. Frazee is the turkey capital of the world!!

Before you get to Fargo in Moorhead Minnesota you can visit a Viking ship replica and a Norwegian Stave Church. We got there too early to see the ship, but was able to take pictures of the church. While in Moorhead we were also able to get a photo of the world’s largest dilly bar. It was invented at the Moorhead Dairy Queen in 1955. The Moorhead DQ is known as a "rogue" DQ, operating outside of the confines of a traditional franchise store thus the invention of the dilly bar. Now sold at all DQ’s

However, we made it to our friends Jerry and JoAnn’s and went on a little bit of a sightseeing tour. In Fargo we went to visit the Fargo visitor center where you are able to pose with the actual wood chipper used in the movie “Fargo”. They are so accommodating they even provide you with a hat to make your photo an even more attractive photo. If you have never seen the movie let me know. We bought our own copy at the visitor center as I have never seen the movie. We will send it for your viewing pleasure.

At the visitor center is also the world famous Fargo Walk of Fame. The Fargo Walk of Fame was started by local businessman after he visited Mann's Chinese Theater. He began approaching celebrities who were visiting Fargo, with a slab of wet cement, asking for their hand and footprints, which he would then set into a 40-foot stretch of sidewalk in front of his shop. If someone was appearing at the Fargo Dome it was a way to memorialize the visit.

When the movie "Fargo" turned the city into something of a celebrity itself, the Walk of Fame was moved to the Fargo Welcome Center on the outskirts of town. It was really pretty cool, you have Dr. Ruth, Bert and Ernie and George Bush.

More fun today in Fargo!!!
