HARVEST ADVENTURES FROM AN ADDICTED CHIP COLLECTOR

BY RICHARD “REGGIE” GUMMER
SOME PEOPLE HAVE COMPULSIONS TO GAMBLE, SOME TO AMASS FORTUNES AND OTHER’S, WELL THEY JUST LIKE TO WRITE STORIES. YEAH, THAT WOULD BE ME. I HAVE ALWAYS LIKED TO WRITE, NEVER WAS VERY GOOD AT IT; BUT I HAVE DONE IT OVER THE YEARS JUST THE SAME.
IF ANY OF YOU WANT ANY INSIDE INFORMATION ON ANY CASINO THAT I’VE BEEN TO, I WOULD BE HAPPY TO TELL YOU WHAT I KNOW.

LEGENDS CASINO TOPPENISH, WASHINGTON

By:RICHARD “REGGIE” GUMMER

TOPPENISH IS JUST A FEW MILES SOUTHEAST OF YAKIMA, WA ON I-82. IT WAS THE FIRST AND ONLY TIME I WAS IN THE CASINO. THIS IS A LOCAL INDIAN CASINO, AND EVERYONE KNOWS EVERYONE. THEY DO KNOW IF YOU ARE NOT LOCAL AND BELIEVE ME IF THEY CAN LIBERATE YOU FROM YOUR ENTERTAINMENT MONEY THEY WILL. MY VISIT THERE WAS JUST A FEW YEARS AFTER THEY HAD OPENED THEIR CASINO IN 1995.
I PROMPTLY GOT INTO A POKER GAME AFTER WAITING MY TURN ON THE BRUSH’S LIST. THIS GAME TOOK ON THE APPEARANCE OF A PEEING CONTEST, EVERYONE SEEMED TO WANT BLUFF ALL THE TIME. SO, I HAD TO REALLY WATCH MY P’S AND Q’S. AS I REMEMBER IT, THE DATE WAS JULY 4TH AND WE WERE ON THE ROAD HEADED TO SPOKANE WASHINGTON.
MEANWHILE BACK AT THE GAME, THINGS STARTED TURNING MY WAY; YOU ALL HAVE EXPERIENCED A POSITIVE VARIATION AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER. TODAY WAS ONE OF MINE. I STARTED PICKING UP GOOD STARTERS AND FLOPPED EVEN BETTER FINISHERS. BEFORE TOO LONG I HAD A LARGE STACK IN FRONT OF ME AND I GREW TIRED OF LOOKING FOR THE BETTER CONDIONED CHIPS FOR MY HARVEST. SO WITH ABOUT 30 $1’S IN MY POCKET AND A FEW FIVES ADDED AT THE CASHIERS, I DECIDED TO HEAD FOR SPOKANE. YES, I GOT ENOUGH AT THIS CASINO.
ABOUT 30 MILES DOWN THE ROAD ON THE FREEWAY WE PULLED OVER AND WATCHED A SMALL TOWNS FIREWORKS DISPLAY FOR A FEW MINUTES. IT WAS FUN DAY; PROFITABLE AND ENJOYABLE, TOTALLY.…REGGIE
